Objectives and Learner Outcomes:

  • Foundations of Clinical Practice: Demonstrate medical assisting clinical competencies.
  • Medical Law and Ethics: Conduct the duties and responsibilities of medical assisting in a professional, ethical, and legal manner.
  • Applied Communications: Interact effectively with patients, family members, healthcare providers, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Safety and Emergency Practice: Apply safety standards, protective practices, and infection control in all aspects of procedures and care.
  • Community Engagement and Professional Recognition: Sit for the national certification exam for medical assistants.

Requirements:

Eligibility Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent
Admission Requirements: Background check and drug screening
Program Sponsorship: Students in this program are sponsored by Virtua Medical Group (VMG) and will complete clinical rotations within VMG primary and specialty care offices. Participating sites may include but are not limited to; Women’s Health & Wellness, Primary Care, Urgent Care, and Cardiology testing.

*Tuition and fees subject to change. For full-time attendance in program, Virtua will retain the full registration fee plus 10% of tuition if withdrawal occurs in the first week, 20% of the total tuition if withdrawal occurs in the second or third week, and 45% of the tuition for any withdrawals after the third week.
